Today is National Pharmacist Day.
I know, I know....
There seems to be a day for EVERYTHING!
This day is near and dear to my heart because my father was a pharmacist.
I vividly remember his long, tiring shifts.
I vividly remember the missed holidays and family gatherings because he was working.
I vividly remember there would be days at work where he couldn’t use the restroom or even eat because he just didn’t have time.
I ALSO vividly remember that he never once complained about it.
We need to remember that although most pharmacists do not work in the hospital setting, they are essential frontline workers!
So the next time you pick up a prescription, say THANK YOU to your local pharmacist
