Breast Cancer Awareness

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

My mother had breast cancer not once, but twice.

This topic is very important to me (for obvious reasons).

How can we get our children involved BEYOND just wearing pink?

  1. LEARN TOGETHER- Check out some great resources such as kid-friendly books or *credible* online resources

  2. GET INVOLVED- check out local walks, fundraisers, volunteering opportunities, etc.

  3. DISPEL MYTHS- Allow your child to ask questions about breast cancer and dispel any misconceptions (for example, some children might think breast cancer is contagious)

We all know someone that has been affected by breast cancer. Let us continue to learn, support, and offer a helping hand, not only during the month of October but all year long.
